Jo-Anne McArthur from Canada visits KSPCA

Last Saturday morning we had a visit from Jo-Anne McArthur who is a very gifted photographer from Canada. She has been traveling the world for the last fifteen years photographing man’s misuse of animals. She has published a book of her photographs called We Animals which is quite an eye opener. She has noted that most of the people who are passionate about animal welfare are women, so she is now compiling a book on that subject.

She spent quite a bit of time at KSPCA taking photographs and was very impressed with how we try to give the animals in our shelter as much space and freedom as possible during their time here. Some of the shelters she has visited do not have such facilities. It is very encouraging to meet someone who is devoting her life to animal welfare.
